Programs

Programs we actively promote to fulfill the CattleWomen’s Creed are:

Scholarships

The SDCW Next Generation Scholarship awards two – $1,000 scholarships to a young person attending or planning to attend an institution of higher learning in the upcoming semester.

The Guy E. Ham Memorial Scholarship is offered in partnership with the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association. One $1000 and one $500 scholarship are awarded at the annual convention each year to any South Dakota student having completed at least one year of post-secondary education and pursuing a career in an agricultural or agri-business related field.

The scholarships are made possible by the generosity and gift of the Guy E. Ham Beef Industry Scholarship in memory of Guy Ham and his commitment to the future of the agriculture industry in South Dakota.

Beef Promotion

SDCW has Beef Certificates and Beef Cards available for anyone to purchase.  Both are accepted at restraunts, grocery stores or butcher markets for the purchase of beef.  Beef Certificates come in $5, $10, $20 and $25 increments with no additional fees and are used like a check.  Beef Cards come in $25, $50 and $100 increments with a $3.50 additional fee for processing and are used like a credit card.

May is BEEF MONTH and each year SDCW hosts its “TELL A BEEF STORY” photo contest on their Facebook page.  Prices are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and “People’s Choice” award.  Winners receive BEEF CARDS to further enjoy and promote beef!
