South Dakota Cattlewomen was formed in June 1951 in Rapid City South Dakota at the South Dakota Stockgrowers Convention with Mrs. John Sutton leading the 53 women as they established a fullfilling organization the, South Dakota Cowbells, who's main purpose was to promote and educate the public about the beef industry.
